The Golden Gavel is District 84's per-club recognition for sustained Distinguished Club Program (DCP) excellence over a full program year. It complements the Toastmasters International DCP awards and is tied into D84's Super Star Incentive program.

What a winning club receives
- 50 Super Star Incentive Points credited to the club for the year.
- A Golden Gavel pin for every member of record.
- Recognition at the District Conference and on the District website.
2026–2027 qualification criteria
Clubs must meet ALL of the following criteria by March 31 to qualify:
- All 7 club officers trained at both rounds of Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI).
- Achieve the Smedley Award or Talk Up Toastmasters Membership Drive Award.
- Complete 2 Moments of Truth club evaluations, as substantiated by club agenda.
- Earn a Perfect 10 President’s Distinguished Club.
- Pathways engagement:
- 90% of the roster enrolled in Pathways.
- New members attend District-provided Pathways training within 90 days of joining.
- At least 2 members earn the Triple Crown Award.
- At least 2 members earn a Club Ambassador Award.
Submitting
Submit the completed Qualification Form to the Program Quality Director by the published deadline. Late submissions are not accepted — the Golden Gavel is recognized at the District Conference, which sets the cutoff.
